A template is a reusable email written in HTML. Variables fill in each person's details when it is sent.
1
Open templates
Go to System Configuration, then Email. The Templates tab opens first.
2
Add it
Click Add template and give it a Unique name.
3
Open the editor
Click Edit on the template's row.
The templates table shows each template's slug, creation date, how many times it was sent and whether it is active.
The HTML tab holds the Template HTML editor. Write your email as HTML, check it with Preview template, and save it with Submit new code.
Email apps handle styling differently from web browsers. Keep the layout simple and test by sending yourself a copy.
Variables are the parts that change for each person, such as their name. Open the Variables tab, click Add Variable and give it a Unique name.
In the HTML, write the variable's name wrapped in double curly braces where the value should appear.
FRONT_FULL_URL
A built-in variable, written the same way, that is replaced with your site's address. Use it to build links back to your site.
1
Pick recipients
Go to Users and leads, then Users, and select the people to email.
2
Open the sender
Click Send as SysAdmin email.
3
Choose sender and template
Pick a Sender and a Template, and write the Subject.
4
Fill the variables
Under Template Parameters, give each variable a user property, such as User Username or User Email, or a custom value.
5
Send or schedule
Tick Schedule for later to pick a date and time, then click Send emails.
User properties are filled in per recipient, so one send can greet every person by name.
